I love original paintings....I love the idea of the heart that goes into them and the stories and subjects behind them.  Most importantly, for my new website, I love selling them to find a new home and be placed in that perfect spot that makes a room come alive.  This one is dear to my heart.  The lady I purchased it from said it reminded her of the scene in Titanic where Rose is getting her portrait done....I agree and that is where it has stayed in my mind.  When it goes to it's new home, it can have whatever story you choose.

                                                HOME SWEET HOME
Back Home last night.  Lots to talk about.  Must do laundry, walk doggies, pull some weeds -- how do they grow so fast?  Will be posting tonight about the fun, discovery and change in our lives to come due to visiting once again my favorite place to be.....possibly our new home soon!  :-)

I am taking a small break for the past few days from blogging...we have been on a trip taking our youngest to college.  Our nest is now officially empty.  A time of endings and great beginnings.  I thank God for the peace that I have had through this time of letting go.  I know that it is the way things were always meant to be.  I don't have that little boy anymore, and I will miss him and his REALLY Big kisses that would almost hurt my face....then his teenage trials and sometimes days with no eye contact....to growing into a young man, with his own life, goals and dreams.  It truly reminded me of the very first day of school.  Will he have friends?  Will he like it?  Only now, he is a plane ride away.  It is the circle of life and I am good with that.  All day we passed parents in the dorm halls with hangers, pillows, many of the fathers had BIG boxes for their daughters marked "shoes"....and there was a knowing look that we gave each other.  A look of "Can you believe this?  How did we get here so fast? "   It is truly one of those things where you say to yourself, "I can't do this, but I'm doing it anyway."  I think moving in day is for parents too....an opportunity to see that you are not alone and look how excited and happy they are....It was a GREAT day.  And now my Mr. and I get to start our new life adventure together.  I am a blessed and happy mother.

TODAY is the big day.  My first give away.  A $100.00 shopping spree.  It will be at:
A wonderful place to visit and I'm sure you will become fast friends!  As I mentioned before: THIS IS MY FIRST GIVE AWAY....and she has been gracious enough to be my hostess.  She will fill you in on the details on her blog....I believe it runs for ten days and she chooses the winner randomly (So I have the relief of not playing favorites.) I DO KNOW that I love to give.  I wanted this to be a give away that is exciting and worth your busy time of day to stop by for a peek at what I love and hope you do too!  Thank you for being a new follower if you are, and I look forward to meeting many more of you. FYI:  shipping is included in your gift.

I'm a hat girl.  People don't recognize me without my hat sometimes.  It's always funny to me how much people remark on my hat-wearing.  Here are some of the most common:  "I love your hat.  I can't wear hats.  I hope hats come back.  It takes confidence to wear a hat.  I'm too short to wear hats."  There is a hat for every size, shape and style.  It is also the best way to keep your face out of the sun and add La-Dee-Da to any outfit.  It doesn't have to be the Kentucky Derby, or Royal wedding event to enjoy the fun that comes from wearing a hat.  There is something sexy and elegant about a hat.  These are a few of our own hats that are one of a kind.  Beautiful, bright and two of my favorite colors.  The flowers and Rhinestone shoe buckle are vintage and add the perfect touch to these quality made wide brim hats.

When I tell people that I have chickens....the very FIRST, not second or third thing they say is:  "Where do you keep them?"   "Why a hen house, of course."  But they do come in the dining room sometimes, perch upon my small aviary attached to the outdoor wall, perhaps to keep the quail company....they enjoy the scraps of fresh veggies and fruits, and take a dust bath every day to maintain their shiny, beautiful feathers...

As you can see, my yard isn't large.  Quite small, but the main thing is that I do have a permit,  which you can get at your City Hall if you are allowed to have chickens... I found out that even though I live in a residential neighborhood at the beach, our ZIP code contains the horse stables and this area is permitted for 6 hens, a pig, a turkey and a certain number of small foul....I wouldn't dream of a pig or turkey though.
I have three hens (no roosters allowed) and I have had chickens for 10 years now.  They are not a lot of work...just a tending to every day.  I let them out to bathe and pick for bugs and sun in their favorite spots.  They love to be held and scratched under their wings and will fall asleep in your arms like a baby.
Mine lay the beautiful French Blue eggs every day...and Yes.  They are delicious!  I know so many people considering chickens.  Feel free to ask me any questions....I may not know everything but FYI:  my friends call me the "chicken whisperer."

Breakfast Blend.  The trick it so use BOTH veggie and fruit...and lots of ice.  My new favorite is to put some walnuts in.
The Girls get the clippings.  Healthy and no waste....and while the girls are out they are fertilizing.

Yummy!  A friend gave me these darling shot glasses,  sat in my cupboard for a very long time....not anymore.  Perfect for the all GREEN blends that actually need a taste of lime after.  A little bitter.  Juicing is the best way to get all of your vitamins.  Make sure you buy all organic.  I promise you, your body will thank you.  Cheers!

I love the fair.
We strategically plan a time that isn't too hot, and not too crowded.
We succeeded again and it was worth it.
My favorite part is the beautiful animals....I want to take them all home.
Of course, the food....my favorite Bratwurst and a little healthy fried food....apples with
caramel and whipped cream.  yummy!!
Now that our sons are grown and no longer want to hang with parents at such affairs,
it's just hubby and I and we are enjoying every minute of not waiting in ride lines
and spending a fortune on cotton candy and churros....but I must admit,
I find myself looking at happy, chubby little ones, and remembering when
my eldest was 7 and went on the "baby" ride that he could barely fit on with his
little brother and went around in circles....

Love making card cases. It has been a passion of mine for quite some time, but my market was babies, and I know they have cell phones early, but I have yet to see a card-carrying baby...but NOW, now I am doing what I love and what I would want to buy.  Something one of a kind.  With a style is evident as soon as you get out your case to hand out a business card....this is your statement.  Your first impression.  Will it say:  "Romantic, Fun and Sassy"?  "Elegant, Simple and yet formal"?  or will it say  " Cowgirl with Lipstick and Sense of Humor"?  I hope that you will find the one just for you.....there are always new ones coming.
